Illustration Friday Submission - Under the Sea
This is a charcter I've been experimenting with lately. The backgrounds I've created for him, thus far, have been largely land based. So Illustration Friday's Under the Sea topic was a good excuse to create a setting more appropriate.

Big Foot Sightings?
Here's a project that's been marinating for a couple months. I received these stencil pieces of Big Foot from Tim Pewe, an amazing multi-talented artist, also from Michigan. Originally the idea was to geotag each of the pieces. Then publish the GPS coordinates in the local paper. From there anyone with a GPS (global positioning system) could set about finding the art. Unfortunately, the local paper changed their deadline date. From the time of the deadline until the time people would get their paper it was nearly 5 days. 5 days was just too long to have the art exposed to the elements. As a result I decided to take them on a road trip and place them in some very select small towns. So far there have been Big Foot Sightings in Fulton, Leonidas, Mendon and Centerville... with more to come. (For those who may not be aware, these are small towns in southwest Michigan).
Be sure to check out Tim's ecletic and inspiring mix of artistry Right Here!!!

Randy Glass - One Amazing Stipple Artist!!!!
About a month ago I fired off an email to an illustrator whose style I tried to emmulate in my early years of illustration. His name is Randy Glass. I basically told him how influential he was to my career. Graciously he emailed me back appreciating my comments. Well last week, on a whim, I decided to submit his web site link to Drawn.ca. Surprisingly the next day Drawn.ca accepted my submission and spotlights his work. Then about a week later boingboing.net, catching wind of drawn's spotlight, does their own. This is so cool because being showcased on Drawn is a big deal. Being on boingboing is an even huger deal. Having been in contact with Randy a couple times since, he's told me how almost mindboggling the traffic to his web site has been and about the many comments he's receiving. I couldn't be happier!!! It's so amazing to know other people are admiring his work just as much as I do. All because of a simple link on a web site. How cool is that!!! Go check out his amazing body of work here:

Guerilla Art - First Batch of the Year Placed
Tonight my first batch of abstract art painted on cardboard made their way to the village of Vicksburg. In addition, I placed a few Sharpie drawings in select places.
Hopefully those who found the art will enjoy them... more paintings and drawings will be placed in the days and weeks to come.

My New Online Store Now Open
I've been really happy with the quality products cafepress offers (t-shirts, mugs, hats, tiles, clocks, etc.). As a result I've decided to open my own cafepress online store to sell merchandise with my art and designs on them. I'll be periodically updating the store with new designs. Currently I'm focusing on cutsey wildlife images (shown above). In time I'll be adding some of my surreal images. For now, feel free to browse around and hopefully you'll find something you like. Oh the Temptation!!!
There's a small Taco shop here in town that I drive by nearly everyday. For whatever reason I was paying close attention to their signage and then began to wonder what I could spell using the words "HARD TACOS" well...
If you scramble the letters of HARD TACOS you can actually spell ROAD CATS... (with only the "H" left over). I have to admit, I am SO TEMPTED to actually change the signage. Unfortunately, I'm not gutsy enough to pull it off. So I Photoshopped it instead.
