Over the Christmas and New Year's Holidays I decided to prepare some of my art for potential licensing usage. As a result I created a simple web site. Although I haven't spent time marketing the site, it is currently live.

Libraryman Character Illustrations

Here's a couple character illustrations I did for Libraryman. Libraryman (aka Michael porter) is a library maverick/advocate who gives presentations on online social networking as it relates to libraries.

A Recent Character Illustration

Here's a recent character illustration for a line of sherbet ice cream. Definitely a fun project to work on. Can't say who the client is until they give final approval.

Here's a recent illo I created for a Birthday Cake ice cream flavor. It was a fun little project and the client was very happy with the final "product".

Character Logos - Mad Man Billet

Here a couple character logo variations for a motocross bike part. Fun project since I havn't drawn flaming skulls since high school.

Rejected Cow Character Illustration

It often happens when you give the client design variations from which to choose, they typically choose the worst one of the bunch. No clue why that is. As a result I frequently post my rejects because I like them better than what the client actually chose.

Bear Foot Costume

Not too long ago I posted a photo of the Bear Foot plush "doll" based on my Bear Foot character logo. Recently, I accidentally stumbled upon photos of the costume based on my character logo. I had no idea the costume existed. Unfortunately this is such a common occurence with designers, illustrators and photographers. Once you complete a project you no longer exist in the client's mind. It's rare to get printed samples of work you've done much less photos of billboards or costumes. So I'm glad I stumbled upon these images.

Character Design - Otter Paws

Here's another example of a character logo I illustrated/designed. I created this a long time ago. From what I gather the flavor is still going strong.

For those of you who happen to be ice cream afficionados, the company that commissioned the logo happens to be the same one who brought you Moose Tracks Ice Cream.

In addition to this logo I also created an alternate flavor logo entitled "Otter Stumps." Basically the paws were replaced with bloody stumps squirting blood. The client had a good laugh about it. What brought that about was the misconception that the client was going to cut off the paws of otters and place them in their ice cream. Makes sense doesn't it?

Cornstock 2005 - 2'x4' Banner Design

Here's an intermediate design for a 2'x4' Cornstock Banner. The final colors will be deeper and richer... nothing like the "circus colors" depicted.

For those interested in attending the first annual Cornstock Music & Arts Festival the date of the event is June 18th (Saturday) from noon to 9:00pm. Numerous bands will be performing. Music styles will range from folk, bluegrass to rock and rockabilly. It's going to be held at Scotts Mill Park (not far from Kalamazoo and Portage). Bear Foot Character Plush Toy

Quite awhile back I created this flavor logo. Apparantly the character was so well received that plush toys were created. I don't think it turned out too bad. I liked how the padded feet look.

Cornstock 2005 - Inked Corn Characters

Refined and inked corn characters playing musical instruments. Coming soon... colorized characters and probably the final design.
