Stone Age Logo

Example
Here's a "logo" I did a lifetime ago. I'd say sometime around 1991 or 1992. Long Before I knew anything about computers, quark, Illustrator etc. Now it's immortalized in rock.

In a way it's sort of symbolic given I created it in the "stone age"...

(This rock can be seen at Scotts Mill County Park - Kalamazoo County)

Ice Cream Cartons

Example

These microscopic elements are the 400 ice cream cartons I've worked on in the last two years.

I've been designing/laying out ice cream cartons for nearly 9 years. Lately I've been curious about how many I may have worked on over the years. Rough estimates put the number easily over 1000 possibly closer to 2000. Surprisingly, I've never gotten bored working on them.

Jerusalem Guerilla Art

Example
I was recently approached by "Idiot the Wise" a.k.a. "Inspire" for an art trade. I was definitely honored to be sought out by ITW. To say he's a street art advocate would be an understatement.

To classify ITW is nearly impossible but he certainly does live up to his other pseudonym... Inspire. Here's his web site:

In addition to a pirate painting, I'll be sending this batch of Sharpie drawings to be placed in public places around Jerusalem (where ITW lives). Hopefully, I'll receive some photos of where some were placed.

IVP Logo

Example

Of all the logos I've created over the years this is probably my absolute favorite. It was created for a buddy of mine. He owns IVP (Independent Video Productions). The combinations of I - V - P to create a camera operator just couldn't be more perfect. Unfortunately it got rejected. My buddy wanted to go with an elegant look for his logo and not so much of an icon... it makes sense because he shoots a lot of weddings...

However I think it's too good to waste. Somehow I'm going to end up using this for something...

Flavor Logos On Pint Cartons

Example
Here are some flavor logos I've created. It's always a nice surprise to stumble upon something I created somewhere unexpected. I believe I found these pints being sold at an out-of-the-way convenience store in Richland, MI.

Carton Design - Key Foods

Example

Some more of my design work.

Here's a recent ice cream lid design for Key Foods, who I believe, are based in the New York area.

Unfortunately, we rarely get finished printed samples from the client. So I'm often retrieving digital files from previous projects in order to add them to my portfolio. Hence showing the lid image and not an actual carton.

Rejected Micro-Behemoth Logo

Example

I make my living creating logos for companies. I rarely come up short implementing ideas. However, when it comes to creating my own logos my "creative well" is much like eating paper towels in a Saltine Cracker factory...DRY! This is one of a handful of logos that just didn't make the cut.
