Brasil Art Trade with Mundano

Example
Example
I have an art trade going to my flickr buddy, Mundano. He lives in Sao Paulo, Brasil. As part of the trade I included the black and white drawings for him to place in public places around his city. Hopefully, he'll be able to send me some pics of where he placed them.

My Dog Sighs- Guerrilla Art Drops

Example
Example
I received a couple guerrilla art pieces from My Dog Sighs months ago. I've been holding onto them for quite awhile since the weather hasn't been conducive to leaving them in public places. So finally the weather cooperated allowing me to place the pieces in Scotts and Climax, MI. Hopefully, there are some happy new art owners out there.

If you'd like to see more guerrilla art pieces by My Dog Sighs and other artists check out this flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/freeartfriday/

Art Trades with Melvind & Carl Oxley3

Example

I received some great art in the mail recently. The happy pink skull came from Carl Oxley 3 (a fellow Michigan Artist) and the skater stenciled canvas came from Melvind (a United Kingdom artist). Both these grace the walls of my office at work. Thanks guys!

Experimental Chalk Drawings

Example

Example
I was cleaning out my garage recently and found some chalk. So I headed to a quiet parking lot to mess around with it a bit. I didn't realize how physically demanding drawing on the ground could be. My legs were absolutely burning!! So after a few days of letting them heal I went back and experimented some more. This time I incorporated a t-shirt someone sent me from a recent art trade. It was definitely a fun experiment... next time I may try drawing on walls instead.

Overseas Art Submissions

Example
Example

I completed a couple new art projects recently, both of which are headed to the U.K. for potential gallery exhibits. The cool thing about these two projects is artists from all over the world are involved.

"Mail Me Art" Project-
This project involved using a mailer as a canvas with the address as part of the art. My choice was to use a box (instead of envelope). I liked the idea that the box looked something like a real canvas.... it should look good hanging on a gallery wall.

"I Got Wood Project"-
This project originally began in the U.K. with 24 wooden blocks and has exploded to more than 120. This project involved painting a small block of wood (appx. 1.25" square). I'm not used to painting such a small object much less in 3 dimensions. Definitely challenging and fun.
